The Next Thing: email

Thanks for all the comments on my last post! I received the sweetest email from Beth about my post: The Next Thing

Thank you for posting your thoughts about living in the moment...a very good reminder of the way you should live your life! For some reason, I have been keeping the towels we got as a wedding gift in boxes because we have old towels we can still use (even if they don't match the new bathrooms). And as much as I LOVE candles, I always wait until someone is coming over or I have a special reason to use them. Why on earth would I keep fluffy new towels in a box and why don't I just use my candles all the time candles if I love them so much??? Needless to say, last night I put our new towels on the rack and burned my cucumber and cantaloupe candle to the bottom! Silly little things, but those silly little things make life more fun!!

I asked Beth if she minded if I shared this and she said... Of course you can post my e-mail...you are the reason my house smelled like cucumber and cantaloupe last night :)
Awwww I love it!!!!

The Next Thing....

I was talking to my good friend Shell the other day and the conversation turned to how I feel like I'm always living for the next thing, she was sharing her own struggles with this same issue. She said something that really hit me....."one day we are gonna miss where life is right now." This chat with my friend has changed me, I want to live for today. Thank you my friend.
A must read.... You're Gonna Miss This...

August 12th my little Skyler turned 8 years old...

Skyler & Payton... they fight like cats and dogs but in the end they would be lost without each other. I'm so glad we have two children.

He wanted an electric scooter or to skydive more than anything... well he has 10 more years to wait on the skydive;)

Sky said that this was his best birthday he ever had in his life!! :0) It was a good day.

Phoot Booth

Having a photo booth at your wedding is always great fun, and a fantastic way to capture your guests having a ball. Everyone loves the old-school photo booths you get to squeeze into, the retro film strips that come.

The dynamic duo of John and Jane of John and Joseph Photography and Jane Lee Photography were recently married and of course, photography played a big part in their celebration. These two had a life sized card board cut out of themselves made for their guests to pose with and the results are hilarious.
.

Here are a few local booth rentals...

All your guests, from the little ones to the grandparents, will get wrapped up in the fun and have a blast taking photos! These days there are all kinds of booths available to rent including lots of digital options. You can use them for a photo guest book or just to let guests take home as keepsakes

Blog Land

Happy Friday everyone! Have big plans for the weekend? Is this really August??? The weather is perfect. I'm shooting a sweet intimate wedding at the couples home. Totally excited for this one!!! The bride has put allot of time into her DIY projects and I cant wait to photograph every little detail:)

{Good Thing} Tees and Thank You

For your thank you cards, whether its after a bridal shower or to thank your the guests who attended your wedding, why not opt for postcards instead. Forget the folded thank you card.

Good thing courtesy of Marthastewart.com

For a cute twist on personalized thank-you notes, send gift-givers postcards of you and your groom wearing clothing emblazoned with messages. Use 3-inch-high stick-on vinyl lettering, peel off the backing, and affix the letters to plain shirts. Ask a friend to take digital pictures, then upload your favorite to a computer and print onto photo paper. We ran the photos through a Xyron sticker machine, which adds an adhesive backing. Attach each photo to a blank size-A6 postcard, and voila! — picture-perfect stationery.
